Jakarta, 8 March 2023 – Bank OCBC NISP, in collaboration with Singapore Management University (SMU), presents the OCBC NISP Summer Camp Program, the first summer camp organized by SMU for Indonesian students. This program is exclusively designed for high school students to gain real-life experience of university life as well as exposure to various industries that can inspire their next educational decision. The Summer Camp program will last for five days, and the participants will have a real life experience of being a university student by attending classes as well as visiting companies and universities.
According to a survey conducted by Data Indonesia , 82.1 percent of those surveyed said that most Indonesians expect their children to continue their education after high school to obtain a bachelor’s degree. This shows that most parents are already aware that higher education is a necessity in order to produce highly competitive human resources. Therefore, in this era of globalization, it becomes a challenge for parents to provide the best education for their children's future.

We have realized the importance of self-discovery for high school students before choosing their major in university. Bank OCBC NISP is the first bank to organize non-banking activities with a focus on education by collaborating with overseas universities to improve the quality of life of the younger generation. This opportunity also aims to build connections and enhance their networking skills from an early age, as they will interact with other participants as well as SMU students. As such, the program, which will be held from 10 to 14 July 2023, has a spirit that focuses on academic collaboration, talent development, thought leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Participants will gain first-hand experience of being a university student through the Summer Camp to get a deeper picture of university life. International learning activities and materials will be specially prepared for OCBC NISP Summer Camp participants, and an official certificate will be awarded to participants upon completion of the program. In addition, participants will gain in-depth experience in various industries by visiting international companies such as LinkedIn and local SMEs. Through this activity, participants will get an early introduction to the world of latest innovations, start-ups, incubators and their ecosystems.
