Be careful of the new mode of fraud that is currently rife, namely fraud claiming to be one of the shipping company couriers.
Get to know this new mode of fraud:
- The perpetrator disguised himself as a courier for one of the shipping companies, contacted the victim via WhatsApp chat, and informed him/her of the status of the package delivery on behalf of the victim.
- The perpetrator directs the victim to check the status or condition of the package by sending a file to be clicked and uploaded in the .apk/Android application package file format.
- After the victim downloads the application and gives the permission requested by the application, the perpetrator can access the victim's SMS to access OTP information. In this case, every SMS received by the victim can be read by the perpetrator, including the history log of the victim's internet usage.
- Furthermore, the perpetrator drained the funds through the victim's mobile banking.

- Only install applications through the App Store and Google Play Store.
- Do not give access permissions to unknown applications.
- Change your mobile banking password and PIN regularly.
- Do not share confidential data with others, including entering confidential data into unknown websites, applications, or links.
