The competition was held to encourage and educate MSMEs in Indonesia to turn challenges into opportunities #BeraniNaikLevel and be more environmentally conscious while supporting Indonesia’s economy.

In addition to managing business finances effectively, another way to develop a sustainable business is to implement an environmentally friendly business concept. However, the OCBC NISP Business Fitness Index 2023 shows that the majority of MSMEs in Indonesia are unfamiliar with or have not implemented environmentally friendly business concept. Only 42% of MSME players are aware of the concept, and of those who are aware, only 51% have implemented it.

Nyala Bisnis Competition: Dare to Scale Up, Step Up, Level Up
The Nyala Bisnis Competition, organized by Bank OCBC NISP and Qualita Company, ran from August 17 to September 26, 2023. The competition was open to all Jabodetabek-based MSMEs that had been in operation for at least one year and had marketed products in the beauty, F&B, and fashion sectors.
After registering, the 60 selected MSMEs received a two-week bootcamp from Bank OCBC NISP and Qualita Company. The bootcamp consisted of one week of workshops and one week of mentoring. The workshops covered topics relevant to MSMEs, such as business financial management, brand and packaging strategy, marketplace strategy, and social media strategy.
In addition to the workshops, participants also received mentoring from experienced trainers to help them develop their businesses. At the end of the bootcamp, competition participants were given a final assignment to create a new business plan, which was assessed by a panel of judges.
On September 26th 2023, a Presentation & Awarding session was held. The 10 finalists presented their business projections to the jury, and the winners of the competition were announced. The winners received prizes worth a total of IDR 28 million, in the form of sustainable packaging and cash, to help them grow their businesses.
