After the COVID-19 pandemic, foster cares across various regions continue to face challenges to provide needs for their foster children. This is due to a decrease in donors alongside rising prices of basic needs in society. Efforts to provide nutritional needs of children, especially daily meals, remain a challenge for many foster cares.
In partnership with Food Cycle Indonesia, OCBC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) invited employees to donate through the Dompet Tanda Kasih Program which distributed in the form of nutritious food for the foster care children.
In the first phase, 1.790 meal packages were distributed to 19 foster cares in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek). By the end of October, an additional 240 meal packages had been delivered to five foster cares in Jakarta, including Talenta Kasih, Kuntum Teratai, Bani Al-Hasyim, Rumah Piatu Muslimin and Tanjung Barata Foster Care.
OCBC Volunteers also visited one of the foster cares, Talenta Kasih, to bring happiness to the children. The volunteers listened to their stories and shared life experiences to motivate the children to pursue their dreams. Earlier, OCBC Volunteers also visited Hairun Nissa Foster Care to play with the children while educating basic financial literacy.
OCBC CSR extends its heartfelt gratitude to all TAYTB Warriors who contributed to this program. It is hoped that this support will help ease the burden on beneficiary foster cares in meeting the needs of the children under their care.
