Bank OCBC NISP recorded 11% YoY profit growth to Rp2.9 Trillion in 2019
Jakarta, January 31st, 2020 – Bank OCBC NISP managed to maintain stable growth amidst the dynamic movement of global and domestic economic throughout 2019. In 2019, the Bank recorded profit growth of 11% YoY to Rp2.9 Trillion from Rp2.6 Trillion in 2018. The Bank’s total asset also increased by 4% in 2019 to Rp181 Trillion from Rp174 Trillion in the previous year.
“The challenging economic and digital disruptive trends that dominated 2019 have further realigned our business strategy. The banking industry needs to be more agile in responding to these trends and to strengthen its competitiveness. Bank OCBC NISP continues to focus on strengthening the business model, supporting sustainable financial growth and continuing its transformation journey. Supported by the capability in managing risk, this strategy has helped Bank OCBC NISP in gathering Total Deposits amounted Rp126 Trillion and disbursing loans with a total value of Rp119 Trillion at the end of 2019,” Parwati Surjaudaja, Bank OCBC NISP’s President Director stated.
The Bank’s lending activities were balanced with its ability to consistently maintain credit quality. Bank OCBC NISP has successfully maintained the non-performing loans (NPL) ratio below the industry average - NPL-gross at 1.7% and NPL-net at 0.8%.
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Bank OCBC NISP reaffirms its commitment toward sustainable financing. Bank OCBC NISP continues to support and facilitate its customers in running businesses while taking into account the social and environmental impacts. The Bank’s commitment was reflected in the green financing activities and its participation as a member of the Indonesian Sustainable Financial Initiative (IKBI) in November 2019. Bank OCBC NISP has disbursed sustainable financing amounted Rp33.5 Trillion or 23.8% from the Banks’s total financing in 2019.
To maintain its sustainable growth, Bank OCBC NISP continues to transform and innovate in improving its products and service qualities and capabilities, as well as enhancing the operational process through digitalization. “Supported with a number of economic stimulus from the government, Bank OCBC NISP is optimistic in thriving and having healthy and sustainable growth. We will continue sharpening our credit policy by preserving economic, social and environment aspects with sustainability in mind, as well as building our ‘beyond banking’ innovation that will enable us to serve and provide added value to customer and contributing to Indonesia’s economic in the future,” Parwati concluded.
