Jakarta, 1 September 2026 – OCBC Indonesia and OCBC Singapore once again hosted OCBC One Connect 2026, a business platform that brings together Indonesian and Chinese companies to unlock opportunities and foster cross-border collaboration. Since its launch in 2023, OCBC One Connect has evolved from a networking forum into an increasingly focused platform that facilitates the exchange of market insights, connects strategic partners, and helps companies translate opportunities into tangible business collaborations. This year's event was attended by Mr. Cahyo Purnomo, Investment Promotion Director for East Asia - South Asia - Middle East and Africa at the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), who presented an overview of Chinese investment realization in Indonesia from 2021 to the first half of 2026.
The initiative's progress reflects the continued strengthening of business activity between Indonesia and China facilitated by OCBC. As of July 2026, OCBC Indonesia recorded year-on-year growth of more than 80% in its Chinese business customer base, accompanied by a twofold increase in loan and funding volumes compared with the same period a year earlier.
Martin Widjaja, Director of PT Bank OCBC Tbk (OCBC), said, "OCBC One Connect serves as a bridge for Chinese companies seeking to enter and expand in Indonesia, while also supporting Indonesian companies in exploring opportunities in China and beyond. This year's theme is Renewable Energy Value Chain Expansion. We believe the energy transition not only plays an important role in supporting sustainable development, but also serves as a catalyst for investment, technological advancement, and Indonesia's future economic growth."
This is aligned with the progress of Indonesia's national energy transition. According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), new and renewable energy accounted for 15.75% of Indonesia's energy mix in 2025, with total installed capacity reaching 15,630 MW. This momentum was supported by the capacity added last year, which marked the largest annual increase in five years, creating collaboration opportunities for manufacturers, technology providers, investors, and financing partners.[1]
This year, OCBC One Connect brought together approximately 40 Chinese companies and 25 Indonesian companies through a more curated format. Through market insight and business matching sessions, participants were able to explore opportunities, connect complementary capabilities, and build partnerships.
Leveraging its cross-border network and integrated banking capabilities, OCBC will continue to support Indonesian and Chinese companies in identifying opportunities, building strategic connections, and achieving sustainable business growth.
